The following studio policies have been established to ensure the environment at the Academy is safe for all students and staff, and is conducive to students’ learning and development. Please call us directly with any questions or concerns regarding these policies.
Class Dates
All classes begin in September and continue through June.
Attendance/Tardiness All students must notify the studio of any absences or tardiness by either calling (262.605.3951) or emailing the studio (

) so that teachers may plan their class accordingly. This is especially important during recital season.
Being on time for class is essential. Students who are late may enter class at the instructor’s permission only. Classes begin with warm up exercises to prevent injuries that might result from more difficult steps to follow. Students who are more than ten minutes late may be asked to observe the remainder of class, as it may not be possible for them to be properly warmed up.
Excessive absence will result in the student being dropped from the class. In this event, no refund will be given. It is unfair for fellow students, as well as teachers, to continually repeat exercises due to excessive absences.
Private music students are allowed 4 make up lessons for the calendar year. After the alloted 4 make ups are used, lessons are forfeited.
Make Up Classes Make ups for missed classes may be made in any class at the same or lower level, within the same session. Please call the studio to schedule your make up class. Please note that we do not give refunds for missed classes.
See above for our private lesson make up policy.
Communication Remember that we are a near PAPERLESS studio. We email monthly e-newsletters and upcoming event reminders. You are responsible for information given in each newsletter. If you do not receive email, please stop by the front desk for a copy.
It is the responsibility of the parent or adult student to be aware of all studio activities, such as viewing days, recitals, extra classes, and dates the school is open or closed. The studio will post all such notices in the monthly e-newsletter, on our website and Facebook pages. It is the parent’s (or adult student’s) responsibility to regularly check these to ensure they are informed. It is also the parent’s (or adult student’s) responsibility to inform the studio of any address, telephone or email address change.
We are always happy to discuss concerns or your child’s progress with you. Please leave a message for the appropriate teacher with the desk staff or you may leave a phone message. We ask that parents not engage teachers in these types of conversations in between classes. This delays the start of the next class and is unfair to the students.
Class Placements Class placement is by staff discretion only. In order to maintain the high quality of our instruction, we place students according to their ability, not by age, outside activities, or carpools. At the end of every school year we will send home placements for the following year. Please understand that at the beginning levels (1, 2 and 3), students should expect to spend 2-3 years in each level as they build a solid foundation of technique. It is highly recommended that students in Ballet 1 and up take a minimum of two ballet technique classes per week in order to progress.
Studio Hours The studio is open a half-hour prior to the first class of the day and 15 minutes after the last class of the day. Please note this when arranging drop off and pick up times for your child.
The studio is not responsible for providing childcare before or after any class. Students are not to be left at the studio for excessive time before or after class. Students should not arrive earlier than 15 minutes prior to their class time and must be picked up within 15 mintues after their class has ended.

Inclement Weather
If the academic schools are closed due to bad weather, we will also be closed. If there is any question as to whether we are closed, please call before coming to class. We will have a recorded message two hours prior to the first class of the day. Studio closing information also will be posted on TV channels 4 and 12, on our website and Facebook pages.
Parent Observation
Parents and outside observers are not permitted during class times. We have found this to be distracting to students and disruptive to the learning process. We set aside a week as parent observation week. This gives you the opportunity to see your child’s progress and makes it a very special occasion for your child to perform. We have large screen, closed circuit TVs in the waiting area so parents may watch their children during class.
Parent Etiquette
Parents, please drop off and pick up your child promptly. Above all else, we want your child to be safe. Please instruct them to wait inside the studio for you.
If your child has any specials needs, please notify us immediately. This includes allergies, disabilities, and injuries.
Remember that you are a role model to your child. Always be supportive and respectful to our students and staff.
Please be quiet in the lobby during class times.
Please label all of your child’s belongings.
Please make sure younger children have gone to the bathroom prior to class time.
Student Etiquette
Please be on time for your classes. This means that you are in the classroom, dressed appropriately, focused and ready to learn. If you are late please wait for the teacher’s permission to enter.
Attend class regularly. Practice makes perfect, right?
Please do not leave class without permission from your teacher. Please show respect and courtesy for each of your teachers.
Your fellow dancers are your team. Please treat them with respect and be supportive. No mean spirited comments or gossip will be tolerated.
Excessive talking or misbehavior will result in dismissal from class.
There is no gum allowed in the studio, lobby or dressing areas.
Please do not bring valuables to the studio.
Please be quiet in the lobby while other classes are going on.
Adhere to our studio dress code policy. You can find dress codes for your specific class on our website.
Privacy Policy
The Academy is committed to online security. You can be confident that your payment and personal information will not be shared with anyone. Your personal information is for The Academy’s use only. We will use this information for our e-newsletters, and other important email communications that contain information pertinent to the studio (i.e. events, closings, calendar updates, reminders, parent observation weeks).
Substitute Teachers
The studio reserves the right to provide a substitute teacher if the regularly scheduled teachers is ill or otherwise unable to teach classes. If a teacher is ill and cannot arrange a substitute, the missed classes will be made up.
Photo Release
The studio is hereby granted permisssion to take photos of the students to use in brochures, studio website, posters, advertisements, or other promotional material. Permission is also hereby granted for the studio to copyright such photos in our name.
Lost and Found
Please check our lost and found basket regularly. On the first of each month we donate the remaining articles to charity.
Tuition
Tuition is paid monthly through autopay or annually in full at the beginning of the year. Tuition may be paid by check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover). A 30-day notice from the 5th of the month is required in order to drop a class. In order to withdraw from a class, the parent (or adult student) must come in to the studio to sign a withdrawal form.
Tuition is not pro-rated for missed classes due to illness or vacation. All tuition is non-refundable.
