Dance Performances

At the Academy we offer 2 performances per year that your child may participate in. Our performances are not mandatory however; we feel that it is a wonderful opportunity for your child’s personal growth and their education as a dancer.

Detailed information regarding dates and times for these performances are e-mailed directly to you.

Please always read your Academy e-mail.

Winter Showcase Performance:

Our Winter Showcase is held on the Sunday afternoon after classes have ended for our winter break. Our Winter Showcase is a low key show to give our younger students a warm up for our June show. Location is based on availability.

If a student is in a level 3 or higher class he or she will perform in 2 performances. If a student is in a level 2 or lower class they will perform in 1 performance.

There are no costumes to purchase. Students wear their class uniforms and the appropriate footwear. The Academy will provide props and additional decorations.

We will sell tickets to the show beginning in December.

Dances are short and will be taught in class during the three to four weeks leading up to the show. If your child is frequently absent during this time the teacher may suggest not participating in the performance. We do post practice video clips on our secure You Tube channel.

A child may only participate if we have received a signed commitment form by Thanksgiving Break.

Annual June Recital:

Our Annual June Recital is a much more formal production with professional lighting, sound and costumes. Again, location is based on availability. Past recitals have been held at Mary D. Bradford High School Auditorium. Students in levels 4 and 5 perform in 3 performances. Levels 2 and 3 perform in 2 performances. Levels 1 and lower perform in 1 performance.

Costumes:

Students are measured in December and costumes will be ordered for all students who have turned in a signed commitment form. A costume will not be ordered if this form is not turned in before our winter break!!

Costumes are chosen by our teachers to suit the choreography of the dance. Costumes will be handed out when all costume balances for the class have been paid.

  • Costume fees for levels 1 and lower are $50 per class.

Costume fees for levels 2 and higher are $60 per class.

Costume fees will be charged to your account the last week of January.

Tickets:

Ticket requests are taken and paid for in mid-May. Ticket requests then go to an outside ticketing company and seats are randomly assigned. Tickets are available for pick up at the beginning of June.

We welcome any questions you may have regarding our dance performances. Please feel free to contact our front desk staff at any time.
