Academy Acting Classes: A Cut Above

Academy Drama Faculty makes the stage come alive

The Academy's approach to drama education reflects a study of how to communicate with confidence, to be comfortable in the spotlight, and to use the voice and as an instrument of one's self. Stop in to take a look at our acting lab, Studio C, complete with two video cameras, props, acting blocks and tons of educational material.

Academy Drama Program:

Miss Rachel Renee, Academy Drama Faculty, brings a working actor's professional insight into her On-Camera classes. Look for her in commercials, short films, and even gracing the stage of the Florentine Opera - an accomplished singer in her own right.

Mr. Adam Theisen, Academy Drama Faculty and General Manager, has over 50 professional credits to his name as an actor, director, and producer. Adam has been heard in voice overs, premiered award-winning new plays, is heard singing on the original cast recording of the musical The Christmas Schooner, and has been seen on television including featured roles in Real Stories Of The Highway Patrol.

Dance Sampler: Not sure what kind of dance is right for you? Our dance sampler class will feature a different dance style every week. Dance styles include ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop, and modern. This is a 6-week program that will run in two sessions: Sept. 7 - Oct. 12, and Oct. 19 - Nov. 30. The cost for each session is $75.

Boys Tap/Hip Hop Combination Class: a very athletic, high energy class for young boys (5-6 years old) featuring both tap dance and hip hop. This is a 45- minute class that meets once a week.

Parent & Tot Dance Classes: your toddler's introduction to the dance classroom setting and the techniques of ballet and tap. You'll get a workout too!

On-camera Acting: learn how to perform for the camera in our new on-camera acting class, taught by an industry professional. Starts Thursdays this fall.

PRIVATE DRUM LESSONS ARRIVE

Mr. Jeff, our great instructor behind the Academy's guitar program, is accepting new students ready to take on drum set. Whether a beginner or beyond, Mr. Jeff's expertise in percussion will surely be appreciated as a master teacher. With a degree in Percussion Performance from UW-Parkside and tremendous experience, you will surely get the most out of your private lesson.
